Verstappen Finally Conquers Marina Bay — and Hands Antonelli a Match Point

Pole, sprint, Grand Prix: a clean Singapore sweep for Red Bull. Behind him, third place leaves the title leader one good Sunday in Austin from history.

Max Verstappen converted pole into his first Singapore Grand Prix win, leading from start to finish and taking the flag 7.3s clear of Charles Leclerc, with Kimi Antonelli third. After Saturday's rain-hit sprint win, it is a second straight Grand Prix victory following Sepang, his 73rd in all, and it lifts him to fourth in the standings, eight points behind Lewis Hamilton.

The bigger number is at the top. Antonelli now has 340 points to George Russell's 238 — a 102-point lead with six races and 150 points left. Russell, starting 19th with a power-unit penalty, could only recover to ninth. That puts the first title shot at Austin on 25 October: several outlets calculate that a win for Antonelli with Russell ninth or lower would make him F1's youngest world champion.

Ferrari had the second-fastest car and still left frustrated. Hamilton started third, stayed out on old softs on a one-stop plan and slid to sixth, losing places to Antonelli, Lando Norris and, on the final lap, Oscar Piastri. He has since apologised to the team for the call.

Two Lead Changes in 24 Hours: Martín Takes the Title Back

Márquez stole the sprint and the points lead on Saturday. On Sunday Aprilia filled the top four and handed it straight back.

Marco Bezzecchi won the Indonesian Grand Prix, passing pole-sitter Raúl Fernández with nine laps left as Aprilia locked out the first four places for the first time. Jorge Martín recovered from a slow start to finish third; Marc Márquez, the sprint winner, finished sixth — his first Sunday finish at Mandalika.

The table now reads Martín 355, Márquez 353, with Bezzecchi 46 back on 309. Five rounds and 185 points remain, starting at Phillip Island on 25 October (03:00 UTC).
